As you’d imagine, Bradford’s textile history means plenty of sights devoted to the rag trade, including the Colour Museum run by the Society of Dyers and Colourists, and the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Saltaire, once a progressive industrial village built in 1852. Its central factory is now a spacious and bright museum, featuring work by Hockney. It’s not all textiles though! There are several notable Victorian and Edwardian landmarks, and the National Media Museum is a fascinating look into the story of media communication, from phtography right up to the Internet.
And naturally, if you’re visiting a place as culturally diverse as Bradford, you can expect excellent restaurants to reflect that, and you won’t be disappointed. 37 parks and gardens are open to the public within the city, as well as a selection of theatres and music venues.
